SPOTLIGHT FUNDRAISER

Trans Asylum Seekers in Charlottesville

From the organizers:
"Support the six trans women asylum seekers who were just released from detention and are now living in Charlottesville!

Most of us are outraged by the human rights violations that are happening at the border. Children are being ripped from parents and asylum seekers are being treated harshly and unlawfully. The good news is that six trans women have been granted asylum parole and just arrived to live with us in Charlottesville while they proceed through the immigration courts.

We are thrilled to host these chicas! And we also need significant financial assistance. We want the chicas to have all of the support they need and deserve. When taking into account lawyer fees, transportation costs, food and bills support for host households, cell phones to contact their loved ones, and general living costs, we estimate it will cost $8,000 for one chica for 6 months."
